At first when I arrived home I was given a cold sholder. Everyone was critizing me for not activating the self destruct on the plane, and not using the suicide pill i was given. On March 6, 1962 I was at the Senate Armed Forces Select Committee, they were grateful that I did not give any critical information to the Soviet Union. I worked for the lockhead as a test pilot from 1963 to 1970. In 1970 I wrote a book called Overflight: A Memoir of the U-2 Incident, I was fired because it caused bad publicity.
